I decided today to pick up a pen.

I’m not all there these days I guess
My heart is torn, I’m a bit of a mess.

I know this girl who’s crazy at best
There’s a big empty space inside of her chest.

I couldn’t believe what happened next

Just when we all thought she was long gone
She saw his face, and awakened like dawn.

I watched all her bones fall out of her skin
Her ears lost their strength, not the sound of a pin.


You never know when your heart has gone numb
Until the outlet has been given your thumb.
